Yes, kids loving it indeed. Weather has been fab which helps lots too. Haven’t quite seen the leaves turning yet which is when Ness islands look their best imo

Enjoying that there are new Battle Beast and Sabaton albums out; some utterly cheddar-saturated power metal often does my spirits some good. Been catching up with some friends over TTRPGs too, which is always nice
I don’t think it’s one of their stronger entries personally, but there’s still plenty of fun stuff on there. The Duellist and Hordes of the Khan are probably the high points for me. I’m going to see them play it live later this year too!
Gave it a listen this morning. Have to agree, lots of filler. Formulaic. Not that long either. I know they are quite established, but some new elements wouldn’t go amiss - perhaps a female singer? Folk elements? Death growls? Breakdowns? A dance track like Alestorm like to throw in? Bagpipes, more bagpipes!

Do you listen to much other power metal? I’m always up to hear recommendations, especially folk-tinged ones
Can’t say I do really. Cruachan my folk find from last year. I saw Fueuerschawnz at Bloodstock this year, and they were great fun live!
