I replaced a baseboard

Two baseboards on a stand. On the left, the old one can be seen. It is warped and dirty. On the right, its freshly painted replacement is drying.

It sat on the bottom of the balcony door. As it was MDF, is was warped, dirty and possibly quite moldy due to our humid climate.

I replaced it with a piece of hardwoord. As my electric saw broke last year and I have not replaced it yet, I had to use the old handsaw and that went quite fast too.

I gave the new baseboard a layer of primer and a layer of white paint.

It fit snugly in the gap below the balcony door and the screw holes were perfectly measured and placed. Installing it took all of two minutes.
