Rule 4 of Steam TOS

Where is the “Steam states” part of this? This looks to be a specific game’s EULA, it even mentions Klei specifically.

To be clear I don’t disagree that Steam has the ability (physically and legally) to remove access to games, I’m just confused about what the picture is showing.

I’m pretty sure that these are not the Steam TOS (as Klei is mentioned explicitly). But nonetheless the Steam Subscriber Agreement contains similar terms (and almost certainly always has).

A) This is Klei’s EULA. You get the same thing if you download their games through the Humble Store.

B) Steam quite famously does not remove games from those that have bought them. They will remove games from the store when they violate rules or at the publisher’s request, but paid content has never been removed from steam accounts. e.g. :

There seems to be this notion that if steam would go away, they would grant us DRM free downloads of all our games. I have heard that multiple times through the years. Seems like hopeful nonsense that justifies a lack of ownership through steam. If ya’ll want to own your games, that contingency has to become concrete law.

Well that’s why I’m trying to share my gaming between GOG for the DRM free safety they provide and Steam for all the good they’ve done for Linux gaming.

They all have their downsides and with Steam you don’t own your games.

You have to be infringing pretty hard to get content removed I bet.
